...and there on the table is the all mighty CODE BOOK, the answer to it all, it was to have all the answers to any thing that the PILOTS or inspectors would write up as a problem with the A/C, you were suppose to find a code in that stinkin book to use to describe what you did to repair the write up, the auther of that code book had never met a GI before thats for sure.

EXAMPLE= this is true story= a CAPT is flying A/C 030 and when he lands he enters a write up in the forms, the write up = ENCOUNTERED BEE IN COCKPIT DURING FLIGHT. I could not find a code to explain the repair to the write up, I wrote in the forms, OPENED COCKPIT CANOPY AND BEE ESCAPED.

The form was rejected at headquarters because it did not have a proper code to explain the removal of the BEE, our SQUADRON was gigged for not filing properly proccessed forms, it was returned several times for a proper code, being that there was no code to use, I finally added to the form, WAXED BEE SCRATCHES FROM A/C CANOPY, BEE EXCAPED WHILE WAXING CANOPY, found a code for waxing canopy and the form cleared.

Its amazing sometimes how our military minds worked. REGARDS LARRY
